Welcome
snorklee measures your website audience without analytics cookies, without advertising identifiers and without visitor-level sales views — and measures what AIs actually do on your site. That is the Explored → Consulted live → Visited funnel: the pages read by the crawlers of ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini & co, the ones an assistant opens while writing an answer, and the human visits coming from AI chats. Everything is measured passively server-side, never guessed. These docs help you install the script, understand your AI traffic, understand your audience figures, and document privacy choices.
Where to start
- Copy the snippet from the Integration tab.
- Paste it once in your site's
<head>, or follow your platform guide. - Open Verify the install to confirm that the server receives a ping.
- Add a short snorklee notice to your privacy policy if you use it for audience measurement.
What snorklee does
- Measures pageviews, events, sources, countries/regions, devices, errors and aggregate UX signals.
- Measures AI traffic passively: pages explored by AI crawlers, consulted live by assistants, human visits from AI chats (AI traffic tab).
- Detects notable AI moments: first visit from an AI chat, first live consultation, AI-share record, crawl spike.
- Keeps page URLs as paths only, without query strings or fragments.
- Keeps referrers and outbound links as hostnames only.
- Respects Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control and local opt-out.
- Keeps raw analytics events for 90 days, then relies on aggregate statistics.
What snorklee does not do
- No analytics cookies.
- No persistent visitor identifier set by snorklee.
- No advertising sale or sharing.
- No session replay.
- No visitor profile or individual journey view for sales follow-up.
Legal takeaway
snorklee helps document minimised audience measurement. It does not replace your own compliance work: you remain responsible for your site, legal basis, visitor notice and other tools.
