Export and erasure
The Compliance tab gathers everything to do with your visitors' right of access and right to erasure (GDPR articles 15, 17 and 20).
Download all data (CSV ZIP)
You'll find the "Download all data (CSV ZIP)" button in two places, and it behaves slightly differently depending on where.
1. In the Analytics tab header
Here the download follows the period selected at the top of the dashboard (Today, 7d, 30d, 90d, 12 months or Custom). Handy for sending a snapshot of the current window to a colleague or a client.
2. On the Export and erasure card in the Privacy tab
Here the download ignores the selected period and always uses 90 days — the widest window our GDPR retention policy allows for raw events. This is the full data-portability export (GDPR article 20).
How it works
- Direct streaming (synchronous): one click, and the browser gets the ZIP in a few seconds. No background job, no email, no 24-hour link.
- File name:
snorklee-export-<domain>-<YYYY-MM-DD>.zip. - What's inside: a
README.txt, amanifest.json(listing every generated file and its status), then 7 thematic folders with up to 31 CSV files (manifest.jsonlists the ones actually generated).

- Column headers in English only (
Unique visitors,Pageviews,Country code, etc.) so you can hand the export to any developer or data analyst, whatever language your dashboard is in. - The same numbers as the dashboard: the export only carries the totals and rankings shown in the UI — never raw event rows — and it applies the same protection to everyone, the owner included. Totals and single-dimension lists are exact; as soon as you cross two or more criteria (or a filter is active), small counts are grouped or hidden rather than broken out, so no single person can ever be pinpointed.
- Nothing leaves the EU: it's all generated on Clever Cloud (Paris), and the ZIP streams straight to your browser.
The 5 Compliance PDFs (signed DPA, processing fact sheet, visitor notice, registry, self-assessment) are not in the ZIP — you download them one by one from the Status & documents card in the Privacy tab, because they aren't statistical data.
Archive a site
The "Archive this site" button sits on both the Export and erasure (Compliance) and Danger zone (Install) cards. The site disappears from the dashboard right away, but its data stays in the database for 30 days. While that window is open, archiving can be undone — just contact us to reactivate the site. After 30 days it turns into a permanent erasure (database cascade).
Erase a site right away
The "Erase this site" button (GDPR article 17). Two confirmations: a tickbox, then the exact domain to type in. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone — every event, aggregate, session and setting for the site is cascaded away.
Erasure that happens on its own
Some data clears itself, by retention doctrine:
- Raw events: 90 days.
- Aggregated stats: 25 months.
- Anonymisation salt: 1 month (rotation, atomic deletion).

A visitor asking to be erased
Since we hold no stable visitor identifier (no cookie, no email), the only practical way to find their data is an approximate time window. That's the accepted trade-off of a privacy-first model.
- Ask the visitor for the approximate date and time of their visit.
- Contact Snorklee data protection support to purge the window in question.
- Confirm to the visitor by email that the deletion is done.
